This policy explains what personal data Happy Yogi collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it. We collect the minimum data needed to operate the platform. We do not sell your data.

Data we collect

Account data. When you create an account we collect your name and email address. Teachers also provide a profile photo, bio, and class information.

Content you publish. Class listings, posts, videos, and profile information you choose to add to the platform.

Payment data. If you purchase a collection, payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. We do not store your card details. We retain a record of the transaction including amount, date, and the content purchased.

Usage data. We collect standard log data including IP address, device type, operating system, and app version, primarily for diagnosing errors and understanding general usage patterns.

Location data. If you use location-based features such as searching for classes, your search text may be sent to a geocoding service. We do not attach your name, email, or account ID to these requests.

Login session data (web app only). When you sign in to the Happy Yogi website, we set a cookie to keep you logged in between page visits. This cookie is essential to the site working and does not track you across other websites.

Why we collect it

We use your data to operate the platform, process payments, deliver push notifications, provide customer support, and improve the service. We do not use your data for advertising.

Who we share it with

We work with a small number of third-party processors who handle data only as needed to deliver the service. These include providers that support:

• Push notification delivery — to send you updates from teachers you follow
• Payment processing — to handle collection purchases securely; we do not store card details
• Video hosting and delivery — to store and stream teacher content
• Mobile and web analytics — to understand general usage patterns and improve the service
• Location search — to support class location features; no account identifiers are attached to these requests
• AI-assisted features — non-identifying content only; no personal data is sent

All processors are contractually bound to use your data only for their stated function and may not use it for any other purpose. We do not sell data to third parties. Upon request we can provide details of the specific processors involved.

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes. Transaction records are retained for seven years in line with standard accounting obligations.

Your rights under GDPR

If you are based in the EU or UK you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully.

Cookies

The Happy Yogi mobile app does not use cookies. The Happy Yogi website uses a single cookie, set only when you log in, to keep your session active. This cookie is strictly necessary and is not used for tracking, analytics, or advertising. Our website analytics do not rely on cookies. If you do not log in, no cookie is set.

Children

Happy Yogi is not intended for anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account contact us at support@happyyogi.app and we will delete it promptly.

Security

We use commercially appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. The current version is always available at happyyogi.app/privacy.
